Thank you for letting me be apart of your postpartum journey!
Thank you for letting me be apart of your postpartum journey!
I’m a mother to 3, & 1 angel baby. Im a wife to a supportive husband! I have 2 dogs, (dachshund & golden retriever), we live in Hazel Green, Al. I love the beach, tacos, and learning about all things birth, baby, and, postpartum related. Halloween through Christmas is my favorite time of the year! I love coffee, swimming, and researching topics of interest! I’d Love to set up a time to get to know you!
I’m a Certified Breastfeeding Counselor, and a Postpartum & Infant Care Doula!
My role as a Postpartum & Infant Care Doula, is to provide emotional, physical, and educational support to new parents as they transition from the hospital/ birthing place, to home. I will provide an extra pair of hands to guide you through making the perfect parenting decisions based on your choices and beliefs.
I am a nonjudgmental resource to have in your tool box to provide you with evidence based materials and information on any concerns or questions you may have.
Parenting can be done in many methods, I will be there to help you feel secure in the parenting decisions you make and to help you build your confidence in the choices you decide is best for your baby!
Family bonding is important to me. I can give you ways to encourage bonding with your new baby(ies). Sibling involvement is crucial to a successful transition into a new growing family! I will include siblings and the partner (if available) in the care of the newborn and help promote bonding with them as well!
Multiple babies? No problem! The more the merrier! I will be the extra set of hands you need to help feed, change and/or care for babies while you rest, shower, eat, or even if you’d like to get some household chores done!
Breastfeeding guidance is something I can provide to a certain degree. I am a Certified Breastfeeding Counselor and I’m training to become an IBCLC. I am able to support you in learning to breastfeed and have resources in place to help when breastfeeding needs exceed my expertise.
As a Postpartum & Infant Care Doula, I am trained in first aid and CPR, however it is out of my scope of practice to diagnose any medical conditions or administer any medications. I have the resources available to find the appropriate professionals that are able to help in a medical situation.
I can recognize Postpartum Mood Disorders and will be able to help you receive the help needed in the event that something seems out of the normal range of emotions that a Postpartum person can experience.
My goal is to help the new mother(family) feel comfortable and enjoy her Postpartum experience with as little stress as possible. That can mean that I may provide ‘light’ household chores such as washing baby bottles, folding baby laundry, organizing baby stations, setting up diapering areas in different parts of the home. (No mopping, bathrooms, or heavy cleaning is included)
Remembering that the new mother has just given birth and her body needs to heal is very important as well. I will make snacks, for the Mother, and refill her drink for her so that she can have the opportunity to relax and heal and snuggle her baby while also replenishing her body so that she is able to care for this tiny little human she created!
Every new Mother needs someone to talk to, someone to be there for her emotional needs after her birth! This is what I’m here for! You can tell me all about your birth story and what it was like for you. In fact this is one of the most important parts of my job. To offer a listening non judgmental ear, where everything you say will be safe with me because I am your safe place!
Postpartum is the time after a person gives birth, up to a year! So if you’re out of the newborn stage and still need a Postpartum Doula, I am here for you! There is no time limit on how long you may need my support.
When you book your appointment with me, you will get a FREE a postpartum journal that you can download and print out to write down all of the things you’ll need, want, or want to remember during this time of wonder in your life!
I’m excited to start this journey with you, and will feel honored that you let me be apart of the most incredible time of your life!
